Last weekend we all went through the dreaded time change where we lost an hour of sleep. Our work week has probably been off and we’ve been all too happy to blame it on Daylight Savings Time. The weather in Oklahoma on any given day can keep everyone guessing. It can drop 30 degrees in a span of a few hours. Personally, I prefer Fall because the brisk cool temps help me start off the day with extra pep in my step. Today was the first day it really hit me that spring is staring us in the face. I had to deliver some items to various places on campus today. It was windy and warm out. At the beginning of my errands, I had a light fleece jacket on but by the time I was headed back to the office, I had it wrapped around my waist. I felt my energy level slow down and thought to myself, “Either I’m out of shape or it’s warmer out than I thought…” When I got back to the office, a colleague told me it was 85 degrees out. It certainly felt like it. I hate when I am only outside for a short amount of time and yet my back is already moist with sweat. Yuck. I guess I’m pretty picky when it comes to these warmer temperatures. I like them because it means golf weather. It means shorts and sandals. It means driving home with windows down and sunroof open. It means wanting to blare my music and wanting to drive for hours on end just to soak in the fresh air. As long as I don’t have to turn on the A/C….I’m a happy girl.
I also enjoy this time of year because it makes me want to carry my camera around all the time and just snap away, capturing the colors of spring and blooming flowers. Maybe that’s what I’ll do this weekend.
